“Don't grumble against each other, brothers, or you will be judged. The Judge is standing at the door!”– James 5:9

Benjamin Franklin was one of America’s Founding Fathers and was active as a writer, scientist, inventor, statesman, diplomat, printer, publisher, and political philosopher. He became a successful newspaper editor and printer in Philadelphia, the leading city in the colonies, publishing the Pennsylvania Gazette at age 23. He became wealthy publishing this and Poor Richard's Almanack, which he wrote under the pseudonym "Richard Saunders". After 1767, he was associated with the Pennsylvania Chronicle, a newspaper that was known for its revolutionary sentiments and criticisms of the policies of the British Parliament and the Crown. He also edited the Declaration of Independence written by Thomas Jefferson.

Franklin once said, "The sentence which has most influenced my life is, ’Some persons grumble because God placed thorns among roses. Why not thank God because He placed roses among thorns?’”

Grumbling accomplishes nothing. Today in prayer, praise the Lord for all that He has given, including the thorns in your life.

“He who stumbles and grumbles is displaying a crumbled reasoning.” ― Vincent Okay Nwachukwu

God’s Word: “You shall not take vengeance or bear a grudge against the sons of your own people, but you shall love your neighbor as yourself: I am the Lord.” – Leviticus 19:18
