On August 5th and 6th, a group of dedicated volunteers from Encanto Southern Baptist Church and Bright Hope Community Church gathered for a very special training.
Their interest in starting a ministry of tutoring to children from their local elementary schools led them to reach out to the National Literacy Missions team, which provided an instructor and workbooks for this vital ministry.
9 people attended 11 hours of training and received a certificate of completion. Their training included information about starting this ministry, as well as valuable information about how to have a successful tutoring ministry.
If you are interested in starting an ESL Ministry, a Tutoring Children and Youth Ministry, or Teaching Reading and Writing to Adults, please don't hesitate to reach out to Darcie Hatch at the SDSBA office, or to Gil and Eva De La Rosa or check out https://literacymissionssbc.net/index.html
