Outreach Fair at Encanto Southern Baptist Church

Encanto Southern Baptist Church had a Community Outreach Fair on Saturday, June 10, 2023, from 10 am-3 pm.  There were 260 people in attendance.  We had several game booths, a prayer booth, health resources from Black Nurses of San Diego, COVID-19 resources, testing and kits, food, and entertainment. The goal was to reach out to our community to promote our upcoming VBS, Hispanic Ministry, and recruit youngsters, sharing the Word of God along with fun for all ages. We also had drawings in which we gave away wonderful prizes, Bibles, backpacks for kids, bikes, gift cards, and two flat-screen TVs.

One person came to know Christ as a result of the event, and there were several prospects who attended church the following Sunday.   Someone thought our church was an all-Black church; they were pleasantly surprised to see the diversity of our church.

The kids loved the jumper; the popcorn machine was a great hit. The karaoke machine came in handy for our entertainment; we had Mexican folklore dancers, and being able to use the karaoke machine was great, as well as a Gospel rap performer.

Even though the weather wasn’t good, it rained for a period, but it didn’t hinder attendance and the good time had by all.
