“For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” – Isaiah 9:6
Isaiah gives us four names of Jesus in this one verse. What are some of the other names of Jesus? Here are seven more:
- Advocate, 1 John 2:1
My dear children, I write this to you so that you will not sin. But if anybody does sin, we have an advocate with the Father—Jesus Christ, the Righteous One.
- Almighty, Revelation 1:8
“I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says the Lord God, “Who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty.”
- Alpha and Omega, Revelation 22:13 NIV
I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End.
- Amen, Revelation 3:14
“To the angel of the church in Laodicea write: These are the words of the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the ruler of God’s creation.
- Anointedone, Psalms 2:2; Acts 4:26.
The kings of the earth rise up and the rulers band together against the Lord and against his anointed one. ’

Therefore, holy brothers and sisters, who share in the heavenly calling, fix your thoughts on Jesus, whom we acknowledge as our apostle and high priest.
- Author and Finisher of our faith, Hebrews 12:2 KJV
Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.
Jesus rules over all. Today in prayer, give thanks to the Lord that He is Mighty God.
