“For the LORD gives wisdom, and from his mouth come knowledge and understanding.” – Proverbs 2:6

Bernard of Clairvaux has been called the "honey-tongued doctor" for his eloquent writings on the love of God.

He was a twelfth-century French abbot. He admonished his readers to be wise in all that they do.
In his writing “On the Song of Songs”, he wrote: “The man who is wise, therefore, will see his life as more like a reservoir than a canal. The canal simultaneously pours out what it receives; the reservoir retains the water till it is filled, then discharges the overflow without loss to itself…Today there are many in the Church who act like canals, the reservoirs are far too rare…You too must learn to await this fullness before pouring out your gifts, do not try to be more generous than God.”

We find wisdom when we seek the Lord. And seeking the Lord begins with searching His Word. Today in prayer, thank the Lord that He gives wisdom in the Bible and seek Him with all of your heart.

“The wiser man shapes into God’s plan as water shapes into a vessel.” – Ella Wheeler Wilcox

God’s Word: “If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him.” – James 1:5
