“and I have the same hope in God as these men themselves have, that there will be a resurrection of both the righteous and the wicked.” – Acts 24:15

Alexander III of Macedon, commonly known as Alexander the Great, was a king of the ancient Greek kingdom of Macedon. He was born in Pella in 356 BC and succeeded his father Philip II to the throne at the age of 20.
Alexander expanded his rule to over 2 million square miles. He founded some 20 cities that bear his name, including Alexandria in Egypt. He spread Greek culture and language throughout the former Persian Empire.
Centuries later, many Romans generals admired Alexander and desired to associate themselves with Alexander’s achievements. The Roman author Polybius began his “Histories” by reminding Romans of Alexander's achievements, and thereafter Roman leaders saw him as a role model. Pompey the Great adopted the epithet "the Great", even Alexander's haircut, and searched the conquered lands of the east for Alexander's 260-year-old cloak, which he then wore as a sign of greatness.
Augustus Caesar was also a worshiper of Alexander. He traveled to Alexandria, Egypt to view Alexander’s burial place. When he was there, Augustus was asked if he would like to see the Egyptian ruler Ptolemy’s coffin. Augustus replied, “I came to see a king, not a corpse.”

Jesus Christ is alive. He died and rose from the grave. Today in prayer, praise the Lord for His Resurrection and for promising that we too will have eternal life

“His resurrection is not only the object of our faith but the example of our hope.” - Thomas Adams

God’s Word: “I want to know Christ—yes, to know the power of his resurrection and participation in his sufferings, becoming like him in his death, and so, somehow, attaining to the resurrection from the dead.” – Philippians 3:10-11
