“As a shepherd looks after his scattered flock when he is with them, so will I look after my sheep. I will rescue them from all the places where they were scattered on a day of clouds and darkness.” – Ezekiel 34:12

In 2020, Grace Leake changed careers. She went from marketing into agriculture – specifically, she began raising Dorper Sheep. She started Harmony Farms located in East Texas, just outside of Dallas. She chronicles her new venture on YouTube and tells it like it is to be a shepherdess. She has said: “When I became a shepherdess I did so with the understanding that these sheep will require more of me than any other animal I probably could have chosen. If I were to retain any other expectations, I would quit.

As I remind myself of that commitment, frustration fades into a sense of duty.  I am sure that time and experience will smooth out some of the bumps, but, by the grace of God, I am committed.”

The Lord knows each of us and is committed to watching over us. Today in prayer, give praise to the Lord that even when we were not walking with Him, He knows where we are and He can rescue us.

“Too many leaders act as if the sheep... their people... are there for the benefit of the shepherd, not that the shepherd has responsibility for the sheep.” – Ken Blanchard

God’s Word: “My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one can snatch them out of my hand.” – John 10:27-28
