The first action on the agenda during the 82nd Annual San Diego Southern Baptist Association meeting at Shadow Mountain Church in El Cajon on Saturday, January 11, 2025, was to pray for the victims of the Los Angeles fires and the first responders. Phil Herrington, SDSBA Director of Missions, led the prayer with more than 200 pastors, leaders, and guests in attendance at Shadow Mountain Church.
“Stepping Into His Story & Our Story” was the theme of the 82nd SDCBA annual celebration and meeting. God’s story was proclaimed through the reading of Scriptures by fifteen SBC pastors in fifteen different languages. His story gives birth to our churches’ stories of cooperation (Pete Ramirez), planting (Chase Feindel), partnerships (Matt Thibault and Narisco Cabuhat), baptisms (Sean Beaudoin), prayer (Sherwood Patterson), hope (Pete Contreras), Hispanic churches (Michael Jimenez), and the gospel (Miles McPherson). God’s business story/session was professionally led by Pastor Roland Slade.
Saturday morning was a time well spent, with worship, encouragement, camaraderie with colleagues, and fellowship with friends. All who attended were challenged to do more for God by continuing to tell His story in our community, county, and beyond!
