“So do not be ashamed to testify about our Lord, or ashamed of me his prisoner. But join with me in suffering for the gospel, by the power of God” – 2 Timothy 1:8

At age 17, Hudson Taylor became a Christian in England and he soon after dedicated that he would be a missionary to China. After four years of preparation, Hudson arrived in Shanghai.
He spent 51 years in China. The missionary society that he began was responsible for bringing over 800 missionaries to the country who began 125 schools and directly resulted in 18,000 Christian conversions, as well as the establishment of more than 300 stations of work with more than 500 local helpers in all eighteen provinces.
Taylor was known for his sensitivity to Chinese culture and zeal for evangelism. He adopted wearing native Chinese clothing even though this was rare among missionaries of that time.
It was suggested by someone that he had given his life to China because He loved the Chinese. To this, he shook his head and answered thoughtfully, “Not, because I loved the Chinese, but because I loved God.”

No matter what you may face in this life, love the Lord and do not be ashamed of the Gospel. It is the Good News Jesus wants everyone to accept. Today in prayer, thank the Lord that He was not ashamed of you to die for your sin. Ask the Lord for strength that you may bring Him honor in all that you do.

“Once inside eternity, we are going to be very embarrassed at the smallness of our faith.” – Leonard Ravenhill

God’s Word:  “They overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony; they did not love their lives so much as to shrink from death.” – Revelation 12:11
