When times are difficult, never forget to say a prayer for ALL our men and women in uniform, their families, and our beloved veterans. Each earnest prayer said for those in need helps the downcast and the grieving souls. The Hebrew Scripture says, "Call to Me and I will answer you and show you great and mighty things, fenced in and hidden, which you do not know (do not distinguish and recognize, have knowledge of and understand)." Jeremiah 33:3 (AMP) The Apostle Paul said, "Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done." Philippians 4:6 (NLT2)
Many service members are deployed or serve overseas. Some are doing COMREL (Community Relations) Projects impacting thousands of people around the globe. When I was deployed on board ships, training exercises, garrison ministry, and in the war zone, doing for others was part of the mission. COMREL and Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief (HADR) were (are) always integral part of the overall mission. Currently, thousands of our warriors and veterans who are volunteers serving at home are helping our all-Country-fight against the invisible enemy, the coronavirus (labeled by WHO as COVID-19). For instance, we are proud of the crew on board USNS
Mercy and USNS Comfort for their sacrificial service. Also, the first responders/front-liners need our daily prayers.
Additionally, many veteran organizations such as the VFW Post 7907, Poway, CA perform multiple community services that impact hundreds of people in San Diego County and beyond. Doing good for others with a kindhearted spirit and loving intention is always good. Jesus said, "For I was hungry, and you fed me. I was thirsty, and you gave me a drink. I was a stranger, and you invited me into your home. I was naked, and you gave me clothing. I was sick, and you cared for me. I was in prison, and you visited me." Matthew 25:35-36 (NLT2).
Mr. Fred Rogers said, "When I was a boy I would see scary things in the news, my mother would say to me, 'Look for the helpers. You can always find people who are helping.'" In times of crisis, let's continue to help one another not only in times of crisis but everyday. May God Bless America and the Whole World! Thank you so much.
