Historic Grace

Posted

God has always been a God of Grace.  In addition, He will always be a God of Grace.  His grace is everlasting since grace is a characteristic of God.  He is not only gracious, He not only gives us grace, God is filled with grace.  In this picture of God’s grace, John 1:14, NKJV tells us that, “the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.”  Jesus is full of grace because that fullness was in Him as God the Son.

In His Word, we see the fullness of God’s grace pictured historically in his children, the Old Testament saints.  Here in the great testimonies of the men and women of the Bible we see God’s grace in times of need, of sorrow, or testing, and of assurance to future grace.

So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand (Isaiah 41:10).

How awesome and amazing it is to know the one who is God Almighty. He is the one who holds all power in his hand. He is the one who is going to walk with you, strengthen you, help you, and uphold you. It is truths like these that we should spend time meditating on. When you do then you will not be fearful or dismayed because you understand who God really is.[1]
