In 2019, Deputy Sheriff Felipe Perez of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department was the lucky recipient of the fourth-fastest speeding ticket issued by the Nevada Highway Patrol in all of 2019. His wife and child were both in the car at the time, and the car happened to not have any license plates.
Nevada State Trooper Ken Nickerson cited the off-duty deputy for the full 134 MPH and for the missing plates on his black Dodge Charger.
Perez said he did not realize he was going that fast and apologized saying he was in a hurry to get to Las Vegas. He then realized that his speeding citation would ruin his career. Officer Nickerson replied: “you made that decision, not me.”
The Lord gives us laws so that we may live safely and draw closer to Him. Today in prayer, praise the Lord for His decrees and laws and seek to follow Him in all that you do.
