Fall Carnival

Posted

This year on October 28th, 2022 Convergence Community Church partnered with the San Carlos Recreation Center for its Fall Carnival community outreach event. After the past two years of limited activities due to COVID, we were able to use the party trailer to provide Sno-cones, Popcorn, a bounce house and more for the event. Along with our Trunk-or-treat activities and the recreation center’s carnival games and costume contests this year, we experienced absolutely joy and gratefulness from our community for the event. We had over 400 adults and kids attend the event.

Our event is not directly tied to a “call for salvation” message; however, we were able to connect with multiple families and build lasting relationships with our neighbors and local community center visitors. Additionally, we were able to promote our Sunday services that take place every Sunday in the same park.

When receiving feedback from volunteers at the event, we realized that several of them had some very good interactions with the attendees. We were able to engage directly with people that have been looking to attend church, looking to get back to church, and looking for a place that their kids can connect with other kids.

We were able to provide the kids of our community with an incredible event as a direct result from using the trailer. So much joy and so many smiles (and lots of happy kids thanks to all the sno-cones and popcorn). The party trailer is an incredible ministry tool that allows us to provide an experience unlike anything we could do on our own without it. We are truly grateful.

We heard about how people were glad to live in a community where there was a church that was willing to give back and expect nothing in return. I can think of no better way that we could have shown the love of Jesus. It was amazing.
