Sunday, June 21, 2020 will mark the 50th anniversary of the founding of Lifeway Baptist Church in Vista.  Plans for special services and events to commemorate Lifeway Church’s historic presence in the community are in the works which are to be held at a later date.

Founded as North Vista Southern Baptist Church, the vision for a new church in Vista began when Buena Vista Baptist Church completed a building fund drive with more funds than were needed. Buena Vista’s Pastor B. Wade McKinley directed one of his deacons to locate property in Vista for another Southern Baptist Convention church. The search led to approximately 4 acres of land on the corner of Highland and Maryland where the church still ministers today.  Currently Lifeway is known for its vibrant Vacation Bible School program and annual Living Nativity which depicts the Christmas story for our neighbors.

The founders of Lifeway have always had a passion to impact the community, the city of Vista, and the nations of the world and that desire has never changed

Jesus told the parable of the sower in which a sower broadcasts seed which falls on various types of ground with some seed falling on good soil and producing a crop.  We are so blessed to have had 50 years of sowing the seeds of the gospel and seeing lives changed in our neighborhood and around the world. We pray for many more years of fruitful ministry.
